What is Kristallnacht? The night of broken glass occurred from November 9-10, 1938, with Jewish sites ransacked by paramilitary forces acting on behalf of the German state. Why do we remember? We remember so that new generations do not repeat history’s lessons of what happens when a society ignores injustice and harm to vulnerable peoples.
