Kristallnacht 2026
You are welcome to the 2026 remembrance event that will be held Monday, November 9 at Congregation Emanu-El synagogue, 1461 Blanshard St., at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be Leo Vogel, a child survivor of the Holocaust. He will share his story about being put in hiding during the round-up of Jewish people. Born in the Netherlands, he’s now a resident of British Columbia and member of the Child Survivor Group of Vancouver.

We are a collective of individuals in Victoria, BC, Canada dedicated to Shoah (Holocaust) remembrance and education. The Victoria Shoah Project was founded in March 2016.

An autograph book from the Nazi ghetto Theresienstadt/ Terezin
In the period just before the liberation of the camp on May 8th, 1945, Maenni, who died in 1975, created an autograph book. This book came to light in Victoria BC Canada in 2018, just before the death of Maenni’s wife, Susi Deston, who gave the book to Rabbi Harry Brechner of Congregation Emanu-El.
